This year’s celebration will mark the 40th year milestone of the Hmong migration from Laos and Thailand to the United States of America.

To commemorate this special event for the Hmong community, Hmong Association of Washington will be hosting “2015 Hmong New Year Celebration” on this upcoming Saturday (Nov. 7) at Seattle Center Armory to showcase their history and experience.

The event will feature a gallery of stories and photos from present-day veterans who served in the Secret War of Laos. There will also be photos from the Hmong community that reflect their life when they first arrived in America and present day photos. Don’t miss their video “40 Voices: We are Hmong”, the video will highlight 40 Hmong individuals speaking about their culture, history, and community. The event does not only focus on one culture but is inspired by Laos, Thailand, and China. There will also be food, clothing, and arts and crafts vendors.
