Jan 12 World Dance Party

Always wanted to learn different ethnic dances but never received the opportunity? Now you can in 15 minute mini lessons, learning routines from Tahitian, Filipino, Kenyan, West African, Guatemalan cultures along with so much more. Bring a dish to share with other participants at this free event. Take the time to promote positivity and de-stress with this fun-filled world dance party!

Jan 13-15 Hawaii Weekend at the Aquarium

Bring back summer vibes and dress up in Aloha wear as the Aquarium explores sea life that originates from the Hawaiian islands. Enjoy Hawaiian entertainment, hands-on activities and special diver shows. For a complete schedule of activities, click on the link above.

Jan 14 Dr. King Hip-Hop Birthday Celebration Party!

Celebrate MLK with a youth and family-friendly gathering at Cafe Ibex! Featured vendors will offer civil rights movement memorabilia, Seattle chapter Black Panther Party 50th Anniversary, YouthPreneures and Boutique Wear. Singing, rapping, dancing and spoken word and poetry will be performed at the event.

Jan 15 MLK Jr. Day Celebration

Experience an open house in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday. People will have the opportunity to watch movies about the Civil Rights Movement, listen to speeches by Dr. King, participate in art activities and learn about other activists. Admission is by donation.

Jan 18 Cocktails & Karaoke for the Seattle Asian American Film Festival

Save the date for Cocktails & Karaoke, a fundraiser for Seattle Asian American Film Festival. The event will feature previews of the festival’s film line-up, raffles and lots of singing. Be sure to come early and eat dinner as 10% of the food and drinks sales will be donated to the film festival. While the event is free, please RSVP so organizers can plan accordingly.
