We want to hear from you.
If you’re reading this, you probably already know what we’re all about here at Ethnic Seattle. But in case you need a refresher…
We are a Seattle-based digital magazine that covers a range of topics including news, arts and culture, entertainment, lifestyle, food and drink, and more. Created in 2015 we operate under the larger nonprofit organization, Ethnic Business Coalition, which inspires our content and the overall mission of our website.
Ethnic Business Coalition (EBC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to developing, promoting, and improving the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of immigrant and minority-owned small businesses in the State of Washington. Established in 2014, EBC works to increase the access of ethnic-owned small businesses to marketing, financial, and advocacy services and resources, and provide them with a greater voice, profile, and representation in the region. Galvanized by the lack of representation and understanding of the common needs and interests of immigrant and minority-owned small businesses, EBC strives to advocate policies, regulations, and programs that contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of entrepreneurship in the ethnic communities.
In that same vein, Ethnic Seattle features people, places, businesses, and events that receive little, if any, coverage in mainstream media.
This is where you come in.
We are looking for more writers and interns to cover a diverse range of topics, especially community news, arts and entertainment, and lifestyle news. Are you someone who prides themselves in being in the know? Are you involved in your community? Do you hunt for the best places to shop? Do you delight in finding little-known gems in Seattle’s outer neighborhoods?
If you’re an established or burgeoning freelance writer, we want to hear from you! Send us your resume and feel free to pitch us some of your best ideas.
We also offer a flexible editorial internship in which you will learn how a digital magazine and nonprofit functions, how to write for a wide audience, how to build your technical editing and writing skills, and more. Learn more and apply here.
